Rix von Rheingarten is a classic 4 year old German Shepherd. He is a big handsome guy with a story to tell. One of our volunteers was at a shelter near Downey called Seaaca. Our volunteer was picking up a dog, as she was in line she struck up a conversation with a man giving up his dog. He had gotten him from a well known breeder and spent several thousand dollars; he then spent three thousand plus dollars on having the dog trained in German. The dog was the perfect trained and loyal companion, but the guy who was deferring to his girlfriend who didn’t want to share him with a big German Shepherd agreed to give up Rix. When our volunteer turned around the guy had decided not to wait his turn in line, but tied Rix up to a fence near by and abandoned him. Rix had to be held for a week in case an owner was looking for him, poor Rix was so sad and so beside himself he lost so much weight. If the owner had waited his turn we could have rescue Rix then, but instead he had to wait a week. Rix hasn’t realized yet that nothing bad will ever happen to him again, we are here to make sure of that, it is a promise! Rix even though depressed responds immediately to his commands, he is so beautiful, he just needs to gain back the weight he lost to look his handsome best! We are asking a donation of $425 for our special guy!
